BIMORE Workshop "Time-resolved spectroscopy"
Piazza del Duomo, Milan.
June 29 - 30, 2009 Politecnico di Milano (Italy)
Program: 29 June: TUTORIALS AND DISCUSSION
PHOTOPHYSICS
- Photoexcitations and their deactivation pathways.
- Real-time tracing of energy transfer and charge separation.
- Quantification of triplet yields from transient ground state bleaching.
KINETICS
- Standard rate equations and typical solutions. Exponential, hyperbolical, stretched exponential decay and which photophysical processes can cause them.
- Characterization of time-resolved data using Singular Value Decomposition and Global Fitting.
- From time-resolved data to a photophysical model.
30 June: HANDS-ON WORKSHOP
For eseen schedule: 9:00 - 17:00, with lunch break Please bring your own laptop computer. Non-commercial software will be used to simulate and predict kinetics of photophysical models. You learn to perform Global Fitting on time-resolved spectroscopic data, and to validate and understand the result.
